In 1954, he dropped out of technical highschool, and joined the Army Corps of Engineers and was stationed in France.  While in the service, he created the posters for upcoming events and movies and was encouraged to return to New York to study art on the G.I. Samantha Churchill

Samantha Churchill earned her Sculptural B.F.A. at Maine College of Art in 2003 and enjoyed a study abroad program in Cortona, Italy. She now resides in the Tampa bay area of Florida. She happened upon a contact that provided scrapped electrical conduit wire from a condo high-rise construction site in downtown Tampa. Since that time she has been creating recycled, sustainable aluminum wire sculptures that are free- standing, wall climbing, and that also suspend from the ceiling. Keeping with her recycled theme she has also included copper wire on occasion and most recently began incorporating animal skulls and bones into her work to begin taking her work onto the next step of it’s evolution. She has been on display at Wannabee Gallery in Milan, Italy since her solo in 2009 and Samantha exhibits throughout Florida with representation currently in Miami, Tampa, and Ft. Myers. Recently Samantha has had the privilege of an exhibition in Manhattan with Agora Gallery and is currently showing in San Diego, CA as well. Samantha is a member of the Ybor Art Association, is involved with Big Cat Rescue of Tampa, and shows regularly at yearly invitational shows; Temple Beth-EL, Platform Art, and Nude Nite.
